When you see someone give out wrong information (online), what do you do?

In most cases, I would correct the person right then and there. What’s important to me, is that everyone (who reads the response of course) knows what’s actually the correct “answer.” Or at least, my response will further broaden a reader’s perspective on the subject being discussed.

  1. I usually ignore it on blogs because I am afraid of sounding like I don’t like the blogger. I once PM’d a blogger after leaving a short comment with a very brief explanation of why you don’t need eye cream; but she was not too receptive so I gave up. Also, this particular blogger uses a lot of high-end items and seems somewhat of the opinion that “you get what you pay for”–which I think is only sometimes true.

Also, her blog’s mission is to make you want to buy things. :) Which I am not saying is bad, and she has gorgeous photographs. However, since I don’t agree with her opinion on price, I have found I read her blog a little less often. :-p

    • Yeah that’s why I tend to not just PM someone, since only he/she will see it. And that person may not be very receptive as you said. But if it’s posted as a comment, everyone will see it.

And I quite despise blogs that are sales-driven. But hey, in this economy, it’s more like… eh. *Shrugs*

      • Well…it’s not really sales-driven, I think the “mission” is sort of a half-joke.
That’s why I left the initial comment; hoping that someone might ask for more details. :)

Okay, I went back to look at it, and it was actually a post about something else (“luminizer” vs “highlighter”) and I also added a comment that “cream” & “eye cream” are also just marketing ploys. :-p
