Win 8 Popular Blushes! (CLOSED)

I’m just so excited to get this blog going that I’m going to be having a GIANT BLUSH GIVEAWAY to kick things off and to thank you guys for being here with me! Hmm, why blushes you ask? Well what do we often do when we get excited? We BLUSH! Haha. :]

The list of blushes include:

NYX Cream Blushes in Rose Petal, Natural, Golden, and Boho Chic.

Sleek (Powder) Blushes in Scandalous, Coral, Pixie Pink, and Flamingo.

Unfortunately because WordPress.com does not allow for Javascript code, I have to host the giveaway on my Facebook page. But that’s all good! Click here to go to the contest page. All rules, requirements, and details will be displayed on the contest page.

The winner has been chosen! Congratulations to Michelle H!!

  1. I found your site on Twitter from gossmakeupartist. This looks like an awesome giveaway! I hate spending money on blushes, so this would be a great chance to add to my collection for free!

  2. The articles I’ve read have been informative and easy to understand. They’ve also been on products that I would consider looking at in stores so that’s great as well. Definitely a blog I would visit regularly.

  4. Firstly, awesome competition. I LOVE me some blush. I have actually been on the lookout for some good skincare advice (I have the oiliest, most annyoing skin on this Earth) so I’ll be stopping by to see what you can do for my neverending quest for a matte t-zone. Sigh…

Good luck with the blog! It’s nice to see more guys getting involved too!

  5. I found your site through Temptalia too! You’re honestly doing really well so far, and it’s refreshing to see a guy be so upfront about his acne problems, when all of us girls have the same gripes too! Your skin’s improved by soo much. 🙂 Shows that persistance and lots of research can do just about anything!

  6. Just read your acne post on Temptalia–even though my skin isn’t particularly bad, I found the post interesting to read from a scientific standpoint and super-informative. (Your skin looks pretty great now, by the way!)

Constructive criticism, if you so desire it: I will say that the front page of your blog is a bit crowded, though.

    Posted by Helena | November 27, 2011, 7:34 pm
    • Thanks! Yeah I know it’s a bit crowded, but I have so much information to give that this is the best way that I could come up with. This blog is definitely not for the casual person. You need to like look through everything on the homepage alone because everything is important.

Any ideas on what I can do? And thanks for commenting!

  7. I also found you through your guest post on Temptalia, and I think you are doing very well! I use Paula’s Choice products to minimize blackheads–I don’t agree with everything Paula says either, but at least the products generally work!
The thing I appreciate most about your posts is the amount of detail you put in, along with all the research on ingredients and explanations for why they work. It shows how passionate you are about the topic, and is highly informative.
When you become a dermatologist, I think all of your readers are going to want to become part of your clientele!

    • Haha thank you!! What a fantastic compliment and generous to say! I definitely hope I will have enough time during med school and residency to keep being detail-oriented and such. Thanks for reading, and for commenting.

      • I’m also happy to see a GUY writing about skincare–I rather think other men with skincare issues will be more likely to listen to you! 🙂

        Posted by kayley123 | November 27, 2011, 5:12 pm
      • And I hope so too, but even if you don’t have time anymore, you’ve definitely pointed us all in the right direction! (By the way, your Product Review Rubric is also fantastic!)

        • This is a new blog, so I don’t plan to drop it anytime soon! xD Although there may be times that I don’t write much because I’m just incredibly busy with my life. But I will definitely let you guys know if I’m going to be taking an extended break from blogging. You guys deserve to know! And I’m glad that you like my Rubric. I kind of just made it up… and hoped that it covered all the bases.

          Thanks again for commenting.

  8. i think you’re doing amazing — my friend and i run a tumblr beauty blog (http://powderdoom.tumblr.com) and we’ve been fangirling over your super informative temptalia post for the past fifteen minutes. i wish you were my dermatologist, you know your stuff and take the time to explain it and not just say what worked and what didn’t. will be a longtime reader, not doubt.

    Posted by Arabelle | November 26, 2011, 11:42 pm
    • Thanks Arabelle and friend! I greatly appreciate your compliments! Yeah, I wish every derm actually cared about their patients, but hey, what can you do? (Find another derm) xD Thanks for commenting, and I hope that I have future patients as appreciative as you!

  9. I’m so glad you’re part of Temptalia now! I found your acne post so interesting. I developed severe acne when I was about 10 years old, and, now, at 20, I still have lingering acne problems. I am currently using the Clinique 3 step system that you mentioned, but it hasn’t helped get rid of the remaining acne after almost a year’s use. I’ll definitely start taking some of your advice and hopefully be able to have completely clear skin for the first time in a decade!

  10. I think it’s great that you’re so honest about your own skincare issues. Honesty will get you far!!

  11. I found you through Temptalia, and I think your writing style has a great flow. Everything is easy to read, concise, and to-the-point (which I like a lot). I’m excited to see how this blog progresses because I’m an admitted skincare FREAK. I love reading anything that has to do with skincare. I wanted to be a dermatologist at one point in my life until school made me change my plans… Also, your acne story is great and it inspired me to buy a bottle of glycolic acid just today (barely 1 hour ago!). Keep up the good work!

    Posted by Michelle | November 26, 2011, 6:46 pm
    • Haha thanks Michelle! I acknowledge a fellow skin care zealot! xD Gracious words like yours are definitely uplifting and fulfilling. Make sure to start slow with the glycolic just to see how your skin reacts. I hope it works out for you!

      Thanks for commenting!

  12. After reading some of your reviews id say you are doing good! I first saw your temptalia article and checked out your website, i like the scientific explanations of everything! makes me wonder if you are a scientist? 🙂

  13. I found your site via Temptila and I think it’s great! You have a solid voice that comes through in your writing, and I really like the clean and simple look your blog has to it! I also really like the science aspect of it and you really sound like you know what you’re talking about 😛

  14. The link that goes to your facebook doesn’t lead to your facebook page but just to my home page. It’s really nice of you to do a giveaway for your readers.
